Fall Season 2026

Dates: Saturdays - September 12th - November 13th

*Note - we usually do not hold practice on a tournament weekend - this typically affects 1-2 weekends in the fall season.*

Times: 

• Grades K-4 - 9am-10:30am
• Grades 5-8 - 8:30am-10:30am

ALL skill levels

Location: Ghilotti Turf Field at Redwood High School 

*ANNOUNCEMENT: due to construction, entrance to the field is currently between the tennis courts and baseball field.*

Cost:

• Grades K-4 - $415
• Grades 5-8 - $575 

Registration fee is due in full on or before the first practice. Rippers athletic shirt for tournaments included for new players or those that need a new size. 

*If you are new to field hockey, you are welcome to come to the first practice and try it out. Create an account and register for a Trial Practice. If you like it, sign  up for Rippers field hockey, and if not, no worries!

**We can also prorate the registration fee for those who cannot make the whole season. We understand the demands of multi-sport athletes. Please email us BEFORE registering to get a promo code - do NOT ask for a pro-rated refund after registeration as this impacts operation decisions. 

Tournaments:

Players can sign up to participate in optional fall tournaments for an additional fee that is calculated at cost to keep it as low as possible. 

• Hockey Gobble Tournament - Willow Glen, CA
• Thunderstruck Tournament - Palo Alto, CA
• Rippers Fall Play Day - Larkspur, CA

Tournament Fees: TBD

Tournament Uniforms: all players wear black shorts, their Navy Rippers shirt, and white and navy socks.

Current USA Field Hockey Membership Required for All Players:

All players must be members of the USA Field Hockey Association in order to participate in practices and non-USFHA sponsored local tournaments. You may either purchase a USA Field Hockey Membership directly from the USFHA (select "Golden Gate Rippers" as your club affiliation). Or you may purchase your annual USFHA membership through Rippers for $10 during registration through the USFHA club support program. Memberships last for one year. 

Required Equipment

• ALL players MUST have a mouthguard AND shin guards – field hockey shin guards are recommended (soccer ones acceptable for younger players) or they will NOT be allowed to participate
• Field hockey loaner sticks and balls will be available for use, but we recommend players have their own stick
• Goalie equipment is available to use for interested players
• Running shoes, turf shoes or cleats are acceptable footwear (note some tournaments do not allow cleats due to their type of turf)
